SunniPath and W.I.S.E. University Announce Development W.I.S.E. UNIVERSITY ACCREDITS SUNNIPATH DEGREE
of a 2-Year Associates Degree Program
Amman Jordan, July 27, 2008 - At an official signing ceremony, the President of the World Islamic Sciences & Education University (W.I.S.E), Dr. Umar al-Rimawi, and the Dean of its College of Usul al-Deen, Dr. Abdul-Maqsood Hamid Abdul-Maqsood, announced their accreditation of an online Associates degree from SunniPath.
SunniPath, the largest online Islamic academy and W.I.S.E. an Islamic University based in Amman, Jordan, are now working together to develop this two-year Associates degree using coursework from SunniPaths existing Foundations, Miftah, and Seekers programs. This degree will allow students to complete two-years of coursework towards a Bachelors degree completely online. "We are trying to help Muslims so that they can finish Bachelors, Masters, and PhDs," explained Dr. Abdul-Maqsood.
The Dean of SunniPath Academy, Dr. Ashraf Muneeb, further explained: "The Associates degree will now allow our students, no matter where they are, to complete accredited coursework so that they can easily transfer into Bachelor degree programs in the religious sciences. The comprehensive nature of this degree will result in well-grounded and well-rounded students."
W.I.S.E. University chose to work with SunniPath due to their impressive track record in effectively reaching out to and teaching students online, across the globe. "We are very happy to sign this agreement with SunniPath," announced Dr. Umar. "They are spreading correct Islamic teachings worldwide and we want to be a part of this. This is also one of the goals of W.I.S.E.—to take moderate Sunni Islam internationally. We want to work together for this common goal."
