to SunniPath?
Throughout Muslim history, the Qur'anic promise of 'manifold increase' has
spurred many a sincere soul to support noble causes, including, in particular,
the preservation and spread of religious knowledge. By contributing to
SunniPath Foundation, an organization dedicated to
supporting the transmission relevant
and reliable religious knowledge, you
too can help support this essential cause. Help us realize our aim to sustain
and strengthen SunniPath's free Answer service, which
requires $12,000 a month to run, and SunniPath Academy,
which provided $28,000 of free services during the Summer
2006 semester alone. See the sections below for details on areas that

Answers
From our initial
efforts at serving a small community of users, we have flourished into a
popular Q&A service. Over 90% of these
questions are answered privately; when the answers are of public benefit, they
are posted to the SunniPath website and mailing lists after omitting the
questioner's name and contact information. It is estimated that website
visitors and mailing list subscribers jointly view 300,000 answers every month.
To sustain a persistently increasing load of questions requires the
collaborative effort of scholars, students of knowledge, administrators, and
technologists.
Each question answered requires
approximately $12 of funding. We
receive well over
1,000 questions a month. Thus, it
takes around $12,000 a month to
properly run the Answers service.
Currently this service is not up to
the par due to a shortage of
funding.
Your contributions will help us
answer more questions, improve
response times to questions, develop
new website features such as
glossaries and cross-referencing,
and research ways to post timely and
relevant information via the mailing
lists. We will also use funding to
hire 4-6 additional teachers to
answer questions, including a Maliki
fiqh scholar in order to launch a
Maliki fiqh list. Most importantly,
your contributions will assist us in
continuing to provide this much
needed service completely free of
charge.

Academy
SunniPath Academy
offers online courses covering a wide range of religious subjects including
beliefs, law, Arabic, Hadith and Qur’anic exegesis. It is our conviction that
the student-teacher relationship is the core of traditional Islamic education.
Accordingly, SunniPath Academy courses make use of the latest e-learning tools
to facilitate directly learning from qualified teachers via the internet. We
also believe that access to SunniPath’s courses should be available to
everyone, whether they can afford the tuition fee or not.
In the Summer 2006 semester alone,
SunniPath Academy provided $28,000 worth
of free services, including free courses
for new Muslims and scholarships. This
number is likely to increase by 20% each
semester. Your contributions will help
us offer courses at a reasonable price,
grant scholarships to deserving
recipients, expand the number and kinds
of courses we offer, and develop new
website features to improve the student
learning experience.
