Reading the Qur’an without faults is an extremely important part of honoring the Book of Allah. In this 3-part series of courses, you will not only learn why and how to do this, but also gain an ijaza or teaching certificate that will enable you to pass your knowledge of this beautiful science to others.
This series of courses will provide you mastery in Hafs, the most popular of the ways of tajweed. By the end of the second course in the series, you will have learnt the exit points and characteristics of all the Arabic letters, allowing you to pronounce them correctly after extensive practice. You will also eliminate the hidden faults (lahn al-‘afy). This will prepare you for the final course and the attaining of your ijaza.
Receiving an ijaza in tajweed is not only extremely beneficial for your akhira, it also gives you greater confidence in reading the Quran because you are able to avoid common, hidden faults. And the ability to spread this knowledge to other means that you can also be a better parent, able to teach your children.
Part 2 will begin with a detailed explanation of the five detailed exit points and how they relate to the pronunciation of every single letter. Subsequent lessons will look at the different characteristics of letters. Finally, lessons will examine the common faults made in the reading of Hafs, so that these faults can be overcome.
The course will consist of a mix between pre-recorded lessons and weekly live tutorials, which will be focused on practicing reading examples from the Quran. The final assignment will tie all the content together with an examination of both the theoretical concepts covered and the level of your actual recitation.
