Qasas al-Nabiyyin is part of a series of books developed by Imam Abu Hassan al-Nadwi especially for students of the Arabic language. Containing moving stories of fourteen Prophets, this book is used in both universities in the Arab world and Dar al-Ulums in India and Pakistan.
In Stories of the Prophets (Guided Arabic Reading): Qasas al-Nabiyyin, the instructor walks you cover-to-cover through the entire book, reading the text completely. This will prepare you for comprehending classical Arabic texts. The focus of this course is specifically on building reading comprehension skills, and is one of the three application courses in the Sibawayh curriculum. The teacher will supplement this main objective with more information on the subject and through pointing out how Arabic expressions used in the text can be applied in your daily life.
Qasas al Nabiyyin was chosen as the text of this course because it was written by someone specialized in the Arabic language and contains rich vocabulary. The passages are short and to the point, making the book engaging and easy-to-follow.
The course consists of weekly live lessons twice a week. The live sessions will involve reading part of the text with you, and will have activities and exercises to check how well you understood the assigned reading material.
By the end of this course, you will be able to completely understand and explain the meaning of any section of the text. You will also learn how to read Arabic texts in a comprehensive way, giving you a strong basis to build upon for future books you’ll be reading. This course is perfect for any student of Arabic who already has a grounding in grammar and wants to practice reading and understanding.
