Our New Curriculum

We are excited to announce our new curriculum!

The curriculum will be fully launched this Fall. In the meantime, take a look at the following preview. And please note that you don't need to wait until Fall to get started—courses that you take this Summer (or have taken previously) will all count towards the programs you are interested in participating in.

Based on our heritage and legacy—the Muslim scholarly tradition—our curriculum represents centuries of scholarship, expertise, rigor, and intelligence. It takes students with no knowledge of the religious sciences or Arabic and plugs them directly into this tradition, and students can either just learn the personally obligatory basics or continue on to study texts in their original Arabic.

Our curriculum was developed under the review and approval of several institutions and scholars in the Muslim World, including the Grand Mufti of Jordan Shaykh Nuh Ali Salman, WISE International Institute in Jordan, Mahd al-Fath in Syria, and Al-Ahqaf University in Yemen.

Programs & Certificates

The following pyramid summarizes the various Curriculum programs. Foundations builds to Seekers, which in turn builds to Inheritors. Along the sides are the Arabic and special interest programs, which can be completed independently or parallel to the other programs.

Religious Disciplines

Arabic

Miftah Arabic Diploma

Learn more.

Sibawayh Arabic Degree

Sibawayh Degree: Cover classical primers in grammar, rhetoric, and morphology as well as master reading, writing, speaking, and listening fluency in not only Classical Arabic, but also Modern Standard Arabic and a colloquial dialect of your choice. Learn more.

Special Interest

You will also have an opportunity to take a number of special interest courses that fall outside the above mentioned program. Special interest courses will include courses in history and spirituality, seasonal courses on areas of immediate concern, such as Hajj and Ramadan, as well as courses on contemporary issues.

What Are the Results?

Not only do you strengthen and refine your own understanding and practice, our diplomas and degrees give you certification to teach the content to others. Those of you who want to go overseas for further studies can go directly into Shariah programs in the Middle East without needing to take their preparatory programs, allowing you to use your time overseas most effectively.

How Can I Complete All This?

The Foundations, Seekers, and Miftah programs combined consist of 30 courses. While you can complete each of these programs separately, many of you will want to set a roadmap starting now to help you complete all 30 courses over the coming years. See our suggestions on how you can do this. If you're able to dedicate more a full-time schedule, please see our 2-year completion chart. If you have other full-time committments, then see our suggested 4-year schedule.

Taken The Courses Already?

If you've taken any of the curriculum courses before, there's no need to retake them. Simply apply to take any needed assessments. Assessment details will be made available this Fall.

Ready to Apply?

The new curriculum is set to launch this Fall. Details about the application process and the oral interview will be available in October insha'Allah.
