Are SunniPath Courses Worth It?

“SunniPath is easily accessible and fits my schedule. Coming from a city where such opportunities are rare, I appreciate the programme because it provides reliable traditional Islamic knowledge...The cost was in the past the main impediment, but I now understand that the course is worth much more than we pay!”
-Mustafa G., Edmonton, Canada

SunniPath courses demand an investment of time, effort, and money. The question is, is it really worth it?

How Much Does It Cost?

Tuition rates for SunniPath courses are $195 for full-length, 13-week courses, with the exception of Arabic department courses, which are $325. It may seem like a lot in total, but when broken down, it’s really not that much. Our regular courses are only $15/week, or $2.14/day, and our Arabic courses are $25/week or $3.57/day. Less than what many pay for their daily dose of coffee. And most people find they pay much less by registering during our early registration period or with our special rates applied.

So now the question comes up: is a SunniPath course worth that cup of coffee? Yes it is!

Your Life Is Affected

A course is worth it if helps you reach your life goals. And if your goal in life is to align all your thoughts and actions with the purpose we were created for, namely to worship Allah, gaining knowledge that will assist you with this is vital.

Our students tell us that the knowledge they have gained in SunniPath courses has an immediate effect on their practice of the religion. Amran S. from Petaling Jaya, Malaysia explains that: “The courses help a person learn a lot about the deen [religion] and how to apply it to his/her daily life in seeking the nearness to Allah, Most High .” This point is echoed by Sohail A. of Charleston, USA, who writes that courses are: “Excellent. Interactive. Life changing. Highly recommended to anyone and everyone. I am humbled by the knowledge that one gains through these courses and feel that Sunnipath is a blessing for people like me who are living in places where access to a traditional teacher is difficult.”

Like Sohail, other students have also expressed that not only is the knowledge immediately applicable, but that this knowledge has the long-term result of being inspiring and life-changing. For Hadil E. of Queens, USA, this effect is indescribable. “The way my spiritual life changed after taking classes with SunniPath cannot be described in words.” Fiona M. of Victorville, USA describes how “people are in awe of how I as a person have changed.”

You Learn a Lot

During a SunniPath course, you’re not just picking up random bits of knowledge, but are completing a detailed study of a topic. Mischelle M. of Silver Spring, USA was pleasantly surprised by the amount she learned, noting that “I did not expect to learn so much in such a short time.” Syed A. of Sydney, Australia agrees. “This has been by far the most structured, disciplined and demanding Islamic course that I've undertaken, and the one that I took the most away from.”

Course content takes months to be prepared and developed, and students feel that this amount of work and time is reflected in the final product of the course. Mujahid A. of Ipswich, UK said that the courses he took were “thoroughly researched and delivered very well.” To Karen H. of North Carolina, USA, “the teachers demonstrated complete mastery of their subjects.”

Online Learning Really Works

Many students start SunniPath unsure of online learning and whether it can really be as effective as face-to-face instruction. Students such as Zainab A. of Seattle, USA, who “was a little dubious of online learning at first but it has been wonderful. I have benefited from every course I have taken, in some cases greatly.” Dr. Adriana D. of Montreal, Canada feels similarly. “I really didn't think that the interface was going to be so good and I didn't think I was going to have so much interaction with the teacher. The online interface reproduces the classroom experience very well.”

It’s Easy to Use

Online learning is not something for just the technically savvy. Even those without background in learning online have found SunniPath courses easy to use. “I expected technical difficulties that would impair learning, but everything was as it should be or resolved extremely fast,” says Tiffany S. of Chicago, USA. And if you have trouble? You can access SunniPath’s “excellent IT support facilities,” as described by Ejaz K. of Rawalpindi, Pakistan.

So Why Doesn’t SunniPath Just Make It Free?

After reading the above, some people may ask: if this knowledge is so important to our lives and our relationship with Allah, why doesn’t SunniPath just provide the courses to us for free? While we would love to do this, the unfortunate reality of the situation is that the institutions that existed in the past to support scholars and scholarship (so that the masses could benefit for free) no longer exist. Thus, in order for SunniPath to sustain itself and not only improve but simply maintain the quality of service, tuition is an essential component. The tuition rates are not surprising given the amount of people involved in ensuring your experience is an excellent one, i.e. instructors, teaching and course assistants, eLearning experts, administrative staff, and technical support. In the words of Arif K. of Aurora, USA, “I never expected an online course to be so interactive and well presented. I have never seen any other course come near to this quality.”

Keeping Tuition Affordable

We do, however, strive to keep these rates as affordable as possible. Rates are lower if you register during our early registration period or if you qualify for any of our tuition discounts. To top it off, you can even pay in installments with our payment plan. And for those how really can’t afford it, we try to accommodate as many people as possible with financial aid.

So why are you waiting? Don’t tell yourself it’s too expensive. Put aside that $2/day and register today!

“I would recommend taking classes from Sunnipath to anyone. The teachers were absolutely amazing, kind and went out of their way to help you. Live sessions were like a breath of fresh air… I gained a lot of info from these classes, made me aware of Islam in a different light and gave me the desire to become a better Muslim.”
-Hina A., Amherst, USA
